You may have heard of the black tax or might even be paying it yourself.
For those who are not African-born or living in the diaspora, let me quickly explain what I am talking about.
The black tax refers to the financial burden that many Black individuals, particularly in African countries, feel to support extended family and community members.
The support often consists of:
Many people view it as a form of social responsibility, but it can also strain personal finances and limit individual investment opportunities.
This is my point. The narrative is changing.
People, especially in the African diaspora, do not agree with the norms anymore and are tying to find other ways.
This is where investments come in!
Think about yourself. How much money did you send back home last year?
If the answer is more than €5,000 then you are missing out on an opportunity!
Think about it this way. What can you invest in when you have €5,000 available every single year.
This should be your question.
Don’t forget one thing, when you can spare €5,000 for extended family. Then you can probably mobilise more to invest.
End result… more income for yourself as your investments multiply.
Let me keep it a short one for this week.
